Playa Hermosa Information
Most of the construction is headed by large hotel complexes on its northern end, while the south retains a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Similar to neighboring Panamá Beach, Hermosa is a favorite for swimmers due to its calm surf. Horseback riding along the beach is a great way for visitors to take in the beautiful surroundings. Indeed Hermosa, which means “beautiful” in Spanish, is aptly named.
Laidback and seldom crowded, Hermosa Beach is a fabulous getaway for those seeking some quality relaxation. Most visitors to Hermosa bring a blanket and sunscreen and soak up the burning Guanacastecan sun. Activities include snorkeling, sportfishing, and Scuba Diving, which is renowned off the coast of Hermosa Beach for its outstanding marine fauna.
A plethora of national Parks lie within a short distance of Hermosa Beach, including Rincón de la Vieja National Park (Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja), Palo Verde National Park (Parque Nacional Palo Verde) and Santa Rosa National Park (Parque Nacional Santa Rosa).
Town runs longitudely along the Beachfront, becoming more sparsely populated to the south. Services in town are abundant, offering excellent shopping, food, bars, and tourism agencies—where everything from private transportation to sportfishing tours can be booked.
Accommodations mostly cater to those seeking mid-range or luxury rooms; however sparse budget rooms are available.
